What is Microcement?
Microcement refers to the application of a thin layer of a polymer & cement coating onto an existing surface that gives the appearance of a concrete. This concrete aesthetic is popular amongst architects and interior designers for both commercial and residential applications and is commonly used in kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor areas, exterior facades, foyers, reception areas and more.
Contemporary and Urban Style
Microcement provides a contemporary, modern finish in any Brisbane home or commercial premises. Applied as a thin layer, Microcement gives the appearance of concrete and is suitable for indoor and outdoor surfaces.
Flexible by nature, Microcement is prepared for each individual use mixing natural oxide tints with an abundant choice of colours. Microcement is then applied skilfully by trowel in either a smooth or texture finish to give the final polished stone look.
Versatility is Endless
The beauty of Microcement is that it enables designers, architects, renovators, and builders, to create a concrete aesthetic where it would not normally be possible. It is a great option for bathrooms and kitchens as it provides a hygienic surface, as well as cabinetry, and most surfaces for all seamless look.
Caring for your Microcement
With no more grout lines, particularly in bathrooms, Microcement offers stress-free cleaning. From personal experience, if the surfaces are treated with fair use and not mistreated, then it will give you no concerns. Harsh spirit-based cleaning agents may harm your beloved Microcement surface and are not to be used.
So, yes it is low maintenance if you look after it properly. Avoid abrasive products, use of sharp tools over the surface, wipe stains to avoid deep penetration and clean regularly as you would normally do.
